Death of a Concept
“Death of a Concept” Graphite & White on Paper, 9″x12″ 2010-11
This is an older drawing that I’ve reworked many times… It’s a drawing that I keep coming back to in a number of moods, many times in sorrow or nervous anger. I came upon this old thing while I was going through my drawings that I have in storage, looking for work to put up in my studio for the TriBeCa Ball on Monday night. I decided it needed some work, so I “finished” it. It’ll be hanging up in my studio on Monday night, and I’m happy to say it’s done now. This is the first drawing I’ve spent well over a year working on. There’s tons of things I’d change and fix, but sometimes you just have to know when to let things end.
